At the beginning of December 2021 we participated at the first face-to-face meeting of Inter Gentes Project (ACROSS NATIONS).

The project began in 2021, but due to the pandemic, all meetings until last December had been virtual.

Inter Gentes’ objective is to improve the methodologies, knowledge and skills of professionals to strengthen their tools and lines of work in terms of social and labor insertion of people with addiction, through the transnational collaboration of similar European organizations.

The project, financed by the  European Social Fund , is divided into 3 phases over 36 months, during which a series of activities will be developed that will focus on innovation and improvement of processes, intervention methodologies and work tools to promote training in social and labor insertion.

Specifically, transnational activities are planned, such as study visits  and the creation of  thematic networks.

This meeting took place in Braga (Portugal) within the framework of the III International Congress of Braga. The 30th anniversary of Projeto Homem Braga was also celebrated, in which our general director, Elena Presencio, participated.

Presencio shared the biopsychosocial model as an example of intervention against addictions, with a retrospective of 3 decades.

Meanwhile, our international technician, Begoña Gómez del Campo, attended the face-to-face meeting of the Inter Gentes group and had the opportunity to visit the PH Braga Therapeutic Community and its insertion center.

She also had the opportunity to present Inter Gentes at this Congress, which was attended by European experts in socio-labour insertion from Ireland, Greece, Italy, Portugal and Spain.
